Wildfire Intelligence — United States, 2017–2026

United States (AZ, CA, CO, ID, OR, UT, WA)2017 – 20268 events

Eight enriched US wildfire incidents joined to authoritative federal interagency fire data — final burned acreage, dated fire perimeters, containment and discovery timelines, SIT-209 incident-management reports, and NASA FIRMS satellite detections. Deliberately spans both perimeter eras: the four 2017–2018 fires carry perimeter growth time-series, the four 2024–2026 fires carry a single perimeter each.

Highlights

  • 250 perimeter rows, every one carrying geometry
  • Silver Creek 2018: 5 acres → 20,127 across 73 observations
  • 567 SIT-209 reports — structures, cost, personnel
  • 460 daily FIRMS satellite detection records

CSV bundle contents

  • hazards.csvone row per fire: identity, location, dates, final acreage, cause, containment, match provenance
  • perimeters.csv250 rows (dated observations plus one archival final perimeter per fire): timestamp, source, kind, acreage, change from previous, polygon as WKT
  • sit209.csv567 rows: acreage, containment %, personnel, structures destroyed/threatened, cost, remarks
  • firms_detections.csv460 rows: daily detection counts and maximum fire radiative power
  • README.mdevent table, two-era explanation, and known limits
  • United States only. Wildfire records elsewhere in the catalog carry hazard metadata but no burned-area enrichment.
  • The area field on a hazard record is the alert-polygon footprint, NOT burned area — use final acreage or the perimeter geometry.
  • Fires through 2019 carry perimeter growth time-series (GeoMAC); fires from 2020 carry one perimeter each (WFIGS). A source change, not a quality difference.
  • Null means not observed or not reported — never zero. The 2026 fire has no SIT-209 reports yet, which is normal for a current-season incident.
